No one wants to imagine a crisis happening on your campus, especially during a busy visit or event day. From fire drills to real fires, medical emergencies and loss of life, to potential shelter in place situations, our campuses are facing huge issues more often than anyone would ever want. Originally presented at the CIVSA Annual Conference in Minneapolis, this popular session is now available to all CIVSA members in a webinar format.
During this session we will tackle how to conduct risk assessments as it pertains to campus visits; minimizing potential risk is the first step to keeping our visitors safe. But no matter how much we try to stop bad things from happening, we also need plans in place for if/when they do. Knowing what to do, who to contact, where to go and what to say during every second matters. In addition to carefully crafted plans to keep admissions guests safe, we also must empower our student ambassadors to know what to do during a crisis; staying calm and confident with the ability to lead visitors. This session will bring up tough topics, but hopefully enable you to instill confidence in your team and admissions guests.
